New Paladin Style Variable Mesh Bus Depot Fencing for £3.2million Stagecoach Bus Depot in Swindon, Wiltshire.

Earlier this year CLD Fencing Systems manufactured and supplied over 200m of Multiplus, Profiled Paladin Style Variable Mesh Fencing to Pembury Fencing for use on the new £3.2 million Stagecoach West Bus Depot in Swindon, Wiltshire.

The new depot needed a secure fence line to protect its fleet of 65 buses so that it can continue to serve more than 5.5million passengers annually in the Swindon area alone. Pembury Fencing and CLD Fencing Systems worked together to design a system that would match all the requirements of the Stagecoach West Bus Depot site.

The purpose-built facility, located in Cheney Manor Industrial Estate, opened at the end of February and held a public open day to show the new depot. CLD Fencing Systems uses over 90% recycled steel in all of its fencing systems which helped to fit in perfectly with the vision of Stagecoach West. Rupert Cox, managing director of Stagecoach West said in an interview with the Swindon Advertiser “We need to make sure as an environmentally conscious company we have the infrastructure in place to be as green as possible.”

Both Justin Tomlinson (Swindon North MP) and Dale Heenan (Cabinet member for Transport) viewed the finished site before its opening. Justin said “This is fantastic. It’s a £3.2 million investment creating more jobs and is a real boost for the local economy. I put the spade in the ground here only in June so to see how much work has happened so quickly is great.”

Vinay Lad, Architectural Technician for Stagecoach UK Bus construction department, highly recommended both the CLD Multiplus Fencing System and the fantastic installation carried out by Pembury Fencing; he said “Stagecoach worked closely with Pembury in the design and consultation stages of our Swindon project, assisting us with costing and technical information as well as advice on different bus depot fencing systems, including acoustic solutions.” He continued; “They then successfully installed a quality end product; including over 200lnm of 2400mm high Perimeter Security Welded Mesh Boundary Fencing (Multiplus) and Acoustic Fencing around the new facility on time and we would have no hesitation in recommending them.”
