Inverness Temporary Fencing – COVID-19 Testing Centres

After the successful set up of a number of COVID-19 Testing Centres north of the border; A-Plant (Sunbelt Hire) chose to use the speed of the RRPST (Rapid Response Physical Security Team) yet again to secure a new testing centre in Inverness.

With the site due to open on 26th April, CLD Fencing Systems managed to turn around 320m of FenceSafe Eclipse and a single temporary pedestrian swing gate inside of the 24hr rapid response window. The new drive-through coronavirus testing facility forms part of the UK Government’s UK-wide drive to increase testing for thousands more NHS and other key workers.

Health Minister Lord Bethell said “The UK Government is rapidly scaling up the national effort to boost testing capacity for coronavirus to protect the vulnerable, support our NHS, and ultimately save lives.

“This new service will help end the uncertainty of whether NHS and social care staff and other key workers need to stay at home, meaning those who test negative will be able to return to work. This is a national effort and we are proud to be working with a number of partners to turn this ambition into a reality and roll out additional capacity to where it is needed.”

FenceSafe Eclipse offers the same level of security as a permanent rigid mesh fencing system to BS 1722 Part 14 but without any foundation. Installed using a patented cantilever base it is designed to temporary works standard and can stand wind loading in accordance with BS EN 1991.
