Colbalt Business Park

Project Overview
The Cobalt Business Park is the largest office park in the UK, covering 1.5 million square feet. It is home to several public and private organizations, including the Department for Work and Pensions, North Tyneside Council, Utility Wise, Procter & Gamble, and Accenture.
In addition to the offices, the park also houses three data centers designed to store data for companies. These data centers cover 10,000 square meters of data hall space, making it one of the largest carrier-neutral wholesale co-location campuses in the North.
The three data centers at Cobalt Park are so large that the business park has its own dedicated supply from the National Grid. It also has a backup system to ensure that the computers at the facility never go offline, as well as a range of security measures, including double fencing and mantraps.
CLD Systems was approached to design, manufacture, and supply Data Center Fencing for the project, which was installed by a member of CLD’s Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) network.

The Brief
Physical security was critical in creating a Fencing and Gate package to protect over 10,000 square meters of data hall space.

Systems Used

Securus S1

With a double layer of Securus SR1 from CLD Fencing Systems, our security teams were able to create a Sterile Zone around the Data Centre in which both fencing systems had a delay time on an attack of at least 60 seconds.
